Enjoy Your Oceanside Dream at Kihei

Spend a few hundred dollars more and stay somewhere nicer Positive: Beautiful view. Quiet. Front desk staff. Negative: Dirty windows, air condition condensation drips on head at night, one wafer sized bar of soap in bathroom, out dated decor, small pool with hot water, tiny floor plan, bedspread old, public park and parking, dull knives, cheap hair dryer burns your hair, facility extremely outdated and feels institutional (but a lot of kehei is like that), it says resort but it's not, no conveniences in facility or within walking distance, beach walking along the road to public access beach, felt like a retirement home (lots of elderly and permanent residents) and we are not spring chickens (in our 60's).

Beautiful location, bad communication Positive: The property is beautiful and its greatest strength is undoubtedly the location. It overlooks the ocean, offering stunning views, with a large lawn that creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The amenities are also excellent, including a swimming pool, barbecue area, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Negative: Unfortunately, our experience was significantly affected by Bob's poor communication. I first contacted him in April to ask about the possibility of an early check-in, but I never received a reply. I tried again the day before our arrival through Booking and even sent him a text message, but once again there was no response. Only after we arrived did I mention the issue, and although he apologized, that did little to make up for having ignored my messages for months. The same lack of flexibility was evident when I asked if we could extend our check-out by just one hour, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Bob declined, explaining that he needed a 2–3 hour cleaning window before the next guests, who were due to check in at 4:00 PM. However, even with a 12:00 PM check-out, there would still have been a full 4-hour window before the next check-in, which is more than the time he himself said was required for cleaning. Granting an extra hour would have been a simple courtesy and would not have affected the preparation of the property. Finally, the house is extremely cluttered with all kinds of items. While some guests may see this as a benefit because there are plenty of things available to use, it also makes the property feel more like someone's personal home than a vacation rental.
